FAQ

Weekly Games

1. What kinds of fields can we expect to play for the weekly games?

It all depends to your preference. We try our best as much as possible to match your preferential time, day and location. It can range from school fields, open fields and artificial turfs according to your needs and most importantly, that matches your budget.

2. What if we already have our own opponents and referees? Can we get fields only from you?

Sure, why not! We do provide the all-in-one package (field, opponent, referees) for convenience. However, if you just need the fields, we’ll provide them for you.

Leagues

3. What kinds of football leagues do you have?

Currently, we have a few leagues already up and running. You can visit our leagues page to have a little taste of what has been going on for the other teams that are currently with us. Good news is, we are expanding! As you know, we would be having a weekday futsal league coming up and a new weekday night league round the corner. So do keep a watch on that!

If you have suggestions to set up a specific league, do let us know. Email us at info@d2dsports.com

4. What’s the difference between playing the weekly games and joining a league?

The main draw for playing in a league is the fact that it injects a sense of friendly competition and a constant dose of drive for teams to improve on their skills and strategy to reach to the top of the league tables. Usually, the teams that are currently in our leagues did start out from playing in our weekly games for various reasons. From there, they naturally progress to joining the league to add on the kick in playing football. Don’t we all love that? At the end of the day, you decide what’s best for your team!

5. Why should we join D2D League and not the others?

D2D Leagues are special to us and to the teams that have been and are playing in them. We have a great mixture of people here at D2D; different races, different ages but all with the similar football passion. We believe in the philosophy of supporting local football endeavors, be it at the professional levels or even the first experiences of mere kick abouts at the open field. In fact, one of the main reasons why D2D was set up is because we are football players too. We understand the struggles and the frustration of getting a chance to play, like how we want it to be. As such, we want to give the best for you. Give a try and you’ll know that you won’t be looking elsewhere for more.

6. There are so many leagues out there! How are D2D leagues different from the rest?

Well, for starters, we are a tight-knit bunch. Though the responses for the participation of leagues is high, we’d always like to keep the numbers small (10 or less teams per league) as compared to the other leagues out there. Being the kiasu Singaporean that we know, the bigger anything is, it should be better, isn’t it? Wrong. We cap it as such because we understand that the teams playing in our leagues do not want to be tied down to a long drawn battle that goes on and on forever! Football should be fun, not painful!

We want to maximize your interest in the games and seasons that you will be playing. As such, unlike others, we also throw in the relegation system so teams such as yours would be kept at your toes well, all the time! Best thing is, with tiered divisions, we are able to match and put together teams with similar standard of skills and football prowess, so it’ll be a fair-levelling of games for teams all around.

7. How long does a season last?

Each season typically lasts for about 4-5 months. There may be other factors such as the cancellations brought about by weather that may hinder games from being played according to plan. A short break would usually ensue after the end of the season. We would then start the next season afresh, and the relegation system in place.

8. Why do we need to pay an upfront of 2 or 3 games before joining the league?

The advance payment that is stipulated for all the teams joining the leagues, has an important purpose. The advance payment is used to cover for the last 2 or 3 games (depending on the eague) that your team would be playing for. This is done so as to safeguard the integrity of the league, should your team back out or leave. We respect all the other teams that are taking part in the league and would want to ensure fairness in the league system.

9. We’re interested in joining a league. How do we go about paying for our games?

Simple! Once your participation is confirmed and you’d filled up the necessary details about your team, we would be contacting you to make your first payments. We accept cash, cheque and bank transfers. Let us know which one you prefer! We’ll also issue official receipts upon request.

10. What is D2D’s policy of negative conduct?

While we hope to bring out the fun and sense of competitiveness in the teams and their players, we are also mindful of the negative conduct that some may bring into the games and the league tournaments. D2D is very strict on issues of lateness of teams for games, no-show turnout and especially so, the discipline on the pitches. We take every feedback on the negative conduct of teams, individual players and referees very seriously. The management of D2D has the right to deal with the matter appropriately and may even consider the removal of teams or individuals from D2D games and league tournaments if necessary. Teams may want to refer to rules and regulations page for more details.
