Organizer’s Notes:
1. To maintain consistency, managers/captains are requested to SMS scores and card count after each game together with Ref ratings. Your cooperation will be much appreciated.
2. All teams are reminded to use the colours that have been indicated in the fixtures. It creates confusion for the referees when reporting match details and also, could create a colour clash if opponents decide to change their colours as well without informing the organisers.
Week 2 (12/07/09) - Torpedo Rovers goes top
Organizer’s Notes:
D2D Sports have been receiving a few complaints over the last few weeks of teams showing up late for games. The league is run on a flexible basis which is the essence of the tournament. However, we would like to remind all teams to be early for their games so that other teams and the referee are not kept waiting. Being punctual and getting ready quickly will show that the team and individual players are respecting the sport, league, opponents and the referees.
Teams are reminded that the referees can kick off the matches once a minimum of 7 players are ready. I hope this message is taken in good light and extended to all players in the D2D League.
Week 1 (05/07/09) - New Boys Rule

Week 16 (21/06/09)
EUPHORIA FOR EUPHORIC ESPADA
Compassvale Sec - In the final match of the season for the D2D Sunday 9am Division 2 League, 79ers came up against Chinatown FC knowing that a win by a 6 goal margin will land them the title. However, tried as the 79ers did, they ended up short of the target and only managed to win the game 2-0.
Congratulations to EEFC for winning the title!
Week 15 (21/06/09)
PLAY-OFF TO DECIDE TITLE?
Clementi Woods Sec - As the D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League draws to a close, talks of a possible square off between the top 2 teams are now turning into reality. With only 1 game left to play, Gloucester Rangers and Nautical FC are level on points and have a remote chance of ending the season with the same number of goals scored and conceded. Remote as it may be as this will require precise results in both games, the Organizers have disclosed that the tournament rules state that a 1 match play off will be played between the top 2 teams should they end up level on points, GF and GA. Having said this, the Rangers are the ones in the driving seat at the moment with a goal difference of 27, 5 better than Nautical’s 22. This was helped by a 9-0 victory this weekend over AK FC while Nautical could only conjure up a 3-1 win over Pink Dolphin.
Euphoric Espada win; Is it enough?
Euphoric Espada gave their title chances a tremendous boost after finishing the season on a high with a 3-1 victory over fellow title rivals 79ers. This result now leaves them 3 points clear on top of the table. 79ers’ final game of the season against Chinatown FC will decide the title, with them needing to win by a 6 goal margin. Should both teams end the season level on points, GF and GA, a one match play-off will be played to decide the winner.
Elsewhere, bottom of the table team Phoenix were jubilant after winning title challengers VOFM 2-0.
An abysmal display by VOFM may have been also due to their realization that their title challenge were effectively over after EEFC’s win over 79ers. For VOFM, only a draw between the top 2 would have given them a mathematical chance, which now have all but vanished.
Organizer’s Notes:
D2D’s 3rd Sunday 9am League will kick off on the 5th of July with the league growing to 24 teams. The league has definitely grown very fast from 8 teams in the first to 12 in the second season. It is also good to see all 12 teams from the previous season indicating that they will stay on. Here’s wishing a big welcome to the new teams joining the D2D group of teams. This will bring the grand total of teams taking part in our league games to 80 from 8 in August 2008, less than a year ago.
Week 14 (07/06/09)
79ERS CLOSES THE GAP
Clementi Woods Sec - 79ers kept up the pressure on EEFC by trouncing bottom of the table team Phoenix FC 3-0. The impending clash between 79ers and EEFC may well turn out to be the title deciding match although VOFM may be the party to gain should the game end in a draw…
Week 13 (31/05/09)
FIGHTBACK BY EEFC DAMPS VOFM TITLE HOPES
Pei Hwa Sec - Leaders Euphoric Espada FC fought back from 2 goals down to hold title challengers VOFM to a 2-2 draw. VOFM looked to be cruising to a comfortable victory after extending their 1-0 halftime lead shortly after the break when a long ball from deep by Eng How was not dealt with by the EEFC goalkeeper and a static defence which allowed VOFM to pounce. With just 1 game left in the season, EEFC refused to give up and eventually clawed back to level the game. The biggest benefactor of this result is 79ers who now are 3 points behind EEFC and 2 behind VOFM but have 2 games in hand.
Look forward to an exciting end to this D2D Sunday 9am Division 2 League…
Week 12 (25/05/09)
RANGERS CLOSES IN ON NAUTICAL
Siglap Sec - Gloucester Rangers capitalized on their game in hand against Nautical FC winning Club de Futbol 9-0. This season’s D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League is shaping up to be the tightest finish ever with the top 2 teams separated by goal difference and only 2 games left to play for each of them. Both teams has conceded 12 goals while Nautical has the slight edge having scored 32 goals while Rangers have scored 30. The significance of this 9-0 victory is huge and both teams will need to go for big margin wins in their last 2 games of the season having already played each other twice. Pink Dolphins sitting in 3rd still have a mathematical of winining the league and will play a critical role in the title race as both Nautical and Rangers have to play them.
Advantage 79ers
VOFM’s Mingzhe converts penalty to give them a 1-0 lead
79ers triumphed 3-1 over previous leaders VOFM and are now only 2 points behind current leaders Euphoric Espado with a game in hand. Having gone a goal down after conceding a penalty early in the first half, 79ers fought well to equalize before halftime. 79ers came onto the field in the 2nd half like men possessed and a spirited display earned them a well deserved victory eventually. A source close to the club disclosed that it was the famous high dryer treatment by 79ers manager at halftime which spurred the players on to victory.
Elsewhere, EEFC’s 8-1 victory over Chinatown FC moved them to top position but the title race is still wide open with VOFM still only a point behind and 2 games to go.
Notes:
The League Organizers would appreciate if all team managers could verify and report if there are any discrepancies in the updates of results of their matches immediately.
Week 11 (17/05/09)
RANGERS STUNNED BY NAUTICAL
Tanglin Sec - Gloucester Rangers long run of undefeated games came screaching to a halt when they collapsed to a 4-1 defeat by Nautical FC. Rangers’ amazing record had spanned one and a half season of football and were widely tipped to complete this sesaon without defeat once again. Nautical FC has now consolidated it’s position at the top of the league and is poised to lift the trophy with 2 games to go. Elsewhere, Pink Dolphin’s win over Mid-West Utd kept them with an outside chance to win the league.
VOFM leapfrogs Euphoric Espado
Results in the D2D Sunday 9am Division 2 league went VOFM’s way completely as they rose to the top of the table following an impressive 5-1 victory over Chinatown FC. Leaders before this weekend, Euphoric Espado FC, sank to a 1-0 defeat by 3rd placed Sanko FC and lost their number 1 position as a result. The league is now shaping up to be a tight 3 horse race this season with 79ers also in with a shout if they win their game in hand.
Week 9 (26/04/09)
NAUTICAL GOES TOP
Clementi Woods Sec - With Gloucester Rangers not playing this weekend, Nautical FC sneaked onto the top of the D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League following a 5-1 rout over struggling Mid West Utd. Still to find their first win of the season, the mid-westerners are in serious trouble and are now the bookmakers’ favourites to be relegated. Pink Dolphins’ win over Club De Futbol strengthened their hold on 3rd position and leaves them still with an outside chance of winning the league.
Shock draw for VOFM against Phoenix FC
Title chasing VOFM were left shell shocked after being held to a 1-1 draw by table proppers Phoenix FC. In what must be an the game of the season for the Phoenix, sturdy defence and an impeccable performance by their goalkeeper (bottom picture) )denied VOFM the chance to go top of the D2D Sunday 9am Division 2 League.
Phoenix Keeper celebrates “victory”
Elsewhere, Chinatown’s win over Sanko FC leaves them in with a slight chance of catching the leaders in what must be the tightest league in D2D’s history.
Notes:
There will be no D2D League Games this coming weekend, but if teams would like to play a friendly, please inform the organizers by Tuesday this week.
Week 8 (19/04/09)
GLOUCESTER BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Clementi Woods Sec - It was a game where the result might have been expected before the match even took place as the leaders of D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League took on the table proppers Mid-west United. Firing 6 goals past Mid-west, the Rangers got back to winning ways in stylish fashion. It was without doubt a comprehensive victory while the only consolation for Mid-west was the single goal they managed to squeeze past the league leaders. Elsewhere, Nautical FC kept up the heat on the leaders with a narrow 2-1 victory over AK FC.
Two is the number of the day
Division 2. 2 goals. 2 fixtures. Two was definitely the number which came up most in this extraordinary day for the D2D Sunday 9am Division 2 League. 79ers and Sanko FC played out a 2-2 draw while Chinatown FC and Phoenix FC also managed the same result. A look at the table has Euphoric Espada still leading it even though they did not play this weekend after 79ers failed to capitalize on their game in hand.
Notes:
D2D Sports in partnership with Beerfest Asia is pleased to bring you DISCOUNTED deals for you, your team mates, friends/colleagues and significant others for Friday 1st May. Please refer to their linked site for more information about the event.
Week 7 (12/04/09)
NAUTICAL FC HALTS RANGERS’ PERFECT START TO SEASON
Bishan Park Secondary - Gloucester Rangers 100% record in the league was broken this Sunday morning by a resolute Nautical FC who managed to hold the current league leaders to a 3-3 draw. After overcoming their opening day blues, a 4-3 defeat by AK FC, Nautical had won their last 3 games. This latest feat signals their intent to topple Ranger’s stranglehold on the D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League. In Tanglin, Pink Dolphin Utd’s title challenge were dealt a severe blow after being held to a 2-2 draw by bottom dwellers Mid-West Utd. AK FC’s narrow 4-3 win over Club De Futbol ensured the club stay on course to challenge the league leaders.
Division 2: 79ers ousted
Euphoric Espado FC kept up their recent form by beating Division 2 leaders 79ers 2-1. Fear of tempers getting of out hand in this highly charged top of the table clash proved unfounded as the game ended with no cautions presented. In Pei Hwa, VOFM closed in on the leaders with a 2-1 win over Sanko FC. 2 points behind but with a game in hand, VOFM are definitely well positioned to challenge for honours this season.
Week 6 (05/04/09)
MID-WEST UTD CONTINUES WOEFUL START TO SEASON
Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary - Club De Futbol banished Mid-West Utd to the bottom of the D2D Sunday 9am Division 1 League by winning 3-1. The battle between the 2 potential relegation candidates proved to be an exciting one as Club De Futbol finally showed their class having failed to win a single point from all their previous games. At Broaddrick, the Pink Dolphins came out tops in their mid table clash against AK FC, scoring 4 goals while conceding only 1.
Division 2: 7th Heaven for Euphoric
Euphoric Espado FC smashed 7 past Chinatown FC without reply, climbing up to 2nd place on the table in the process. In the clash of the table bottoms, Sanko FC narrowly edged out Phoenix FC 3-2.
Notes:
1. All teams please take note that there will be no league games on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of May. Any teams interested in arranging a game or a friendly match, please inform the league organizers as soon as possible so that we can try our best to meet the request.
Week 5 (29/03/09)
Gloucester continued its dominance in Div 1 this weekend when the edged out title challengers AKFC by a solitary goal. Second placed Nautical had an easier outing when they beat cellar dwellers Club de Futbol 4-0.
It was the same story in Div 2 - funny how football works. Leaders, 79ers held off Chinatown’s threat and came up tops by a solitary goal as well. Phoenix found their outing to the north of the island rewarding when they beat EEFC 2-0. Sanko and VOFM played out a 1-1 draw.
Week 4 (15/03/09)
Gloucester Rangers in their second season with D2D seem to have set the pace again with 3 wins out of 3. It was Club de Futbol who went down to the Rangers this week with a 5-1 drubbing. Debutants Mid West, nearly pulled an upset when last year’s runners up - AKFC, just managed a 2-1 win. The experienced Nautical who promised to give Gloucester Rangers a good challenge this season, brushed aside the Pink Dolphins 4-1.
In Div 2, Chinatown after a week’s break beat cellar dwellers Phoenix 3-1. League leaders VOFM continued their fine run, beating EEFC soundly 3-0. Sanko went down to the 729ers 1-2.
Week 2 (01/03/09)
In Round 2 of competition, the Pink Dolphins nearly pulled off an impressive win against defending champions - Gloucester Rangers. Leading 2 nil, it looked like the Dolphins were home and dry until the Rangers came back strong to pull three goals back to win 3-2.The Euphorics made it 2 out of 2 when they beat Sanko 1-0 at Bishan Park. Sanko had the better of the proceedings but just couldnt find the final pass. It was 0-0 at half time. Regular campaigners Chinatown, beat VOFM 3-2 in another thrilling encounter at Sengkang.

Week 1 (22/02/09)
The launch of D2D’s 2nd season kicked off as scheduled on the 22nd of Feb 2009, with a total of 12 teams vying for respective honours.
Div 1
Defending champions were given an early scare in the season when they were pushed hard by Mid-West Utd FC at Serangoon Stadium. Seasoned campaigners, Mid-West looks like one of the teams to look out for this season. Last year’s runner up also found the proceedings tough when they managed to just scrap by new comers Nautical FC 4-3. Pink Dolphin beat Club De Futbol 2-1.
Div 2
Euphoric Espado registered their campaign with a fine win over last year’s campaigner Phoenix. The game at Canberra finished 4-2 to the new comers. Sanko, who drew Chinatown in a pre-season friendly, beat them 4-2 whilst VOFM came from behind to beat 79ers 2-1 at Pei Hwa.
Organisers’ Notes

Hi…
anyway i am one of the players in the team of your morning league…Juz suggesting since you have a few league…why not have an FA Cup tournament??
all the 3 leagues combine to have a knock out stage towards the final??
haha…juz an idea!
I totally agree with the first comment even though its a year old. Why not have league cup - knockout stage. Teams from ALL Divsions can play each other for the coveted cup.
Also I am sure its extra revenue roller.
As our 9am League is coming to an end. Why not create league cup tournament.
Thanks
