8asideleagues (Veterans) MD5 — Goals galore as veterans unleash attacking fire
A feast of finishing across four cliffhanger encounters left defences gasping on Matchday 5. With 21 goals shared across the division, it was a day that belonged to those who could convert chances—and punish hesitation.
Melville FC found themselves chasing shadows early against BooZebonitoz FC. Zuhilmi Zailani opened the scoring for Melville in the 12th minute, but Jonathan levelled matters five minutes later. Wilson Jeyaraj then turned the screw with back-to-back strikes in the 22nd and 32nd minutes to put BooZebonitoz in command at 3-1. Muhammad Ashiq pulled one back for Melville on the stroke of half-time, but it proved too little as BooZebonitoz held on for a 3-2 win.
Mexican Aces FC and Capella FC treated spectators to a six-goal thriller that swung like a pendulum. Capella flew out of the blocks through Norfahazly, who netted twice in quick succession—the 2nd and 8th minutes—to establish a commanding 2-0 lead. Mexican Aces regrouped spectacularly, with Dinesh, Vijayachandran, and Omar Farooq combining to turn the scoreline to 3-2 in the space of six minutes after the half-hour mark. Capella's Muhd Ruhaizad snatched a dramatic 34th-minute equaliser to seal a 3-3 draw and deny either side all three points.
O-Beast FC dominated early against Timeless Crew, with Aidil Shuklan netting twice inside the opening quarter-hour to build a commanding 2-0 buffer. Yet Timeless Crew proved far from finished. Muhammed Faizal reduced the deficit in the 18th minute, then Muhammad Imran Band Razali struck either side of the interval to flip the contest on its head. Ahmadul Fatta added a fourth in the 48th minute as Timeless Crew stormed to a 4-2 victory and a statement win.
XCPG were overwhelmed by Tiki Tikka Tigers' clinical finishing in the closing stages. Mahinder Singh and Chai Peter Nicholas put the visitors 2-0 ahead by the 36th minute, with Adib Syahiran briefly rallying XCPG to 1-2 before half-time. Jasvinder Singh delivered the killer blow in the 48th minute to secure a 3-1 win for Tiki Tikka Tigers
